Description

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt over medium heat. Stir until melted and boiling.
  2. Add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until it forms a dough that pulls away from the sides.
  3. Remove from heat and let the dough cool for about 10 minutes.
  4. Once cooled slightly, add eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth.
  5. Transfer dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe heart shapes onto parchment paper.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry heart-shaped churros until golden brown (about 3 minutes per side).
  7. Drain excess oil on paper towels and coat warm churros in cinnamon-sugar mixture before serving.
