  • 1 can (28 oz) whole peeled tomatoes

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving some pasta water.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
  3. Add canned tomatoes (crushed by hand if desired) along with salt and pepper; simmer for about 10 minutes until thickened.
  4. Toss the drained pasta into the sauce, mixing well. If needed, add reserved pasta water for desired consistency.
  5. Stir in torn basil leaves gently.
