- 1 cup glutinous rice
- 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 ripe mangoes, sliced
- Toasted sesame seeds or mung beans for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak in water for at least 4 hours.
- Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a bamboo steamer lined with cheesecloth for about 30 minutes until tender.
- In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt over low heat until dissolved (do not boil).
- Pour half of the coconut sauce over the cooked rice and gently mix to coat.
- Serve the sticky rice topped with sliced mangoes and drizzle the remaining coconut sauce on top. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds or mung beans.
