  • 1 cup honey
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans with butter and dust with flour.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine honey and sugar. Mix on medium speed until blended, then add butter and beat until creamy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by sour cream until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  6. Once cooled, slice each layer horizontally if desired. Assemble the cake with frosting between layers and on top.
