- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Thinly slice the potatoes to about an eighth of an inch thick.
- In a bowl, mix heavy cream with minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Optionally add nutmeg for extra flavor.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over them and sprinkle with half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown on top.
