Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet

Method
 

Prepare the Batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Bake the Bars
  1. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
