Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
Filling
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
Topping
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Cruffins
  1. Preheat the oven to 375?F (190?C).
  2. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log, then cut into 12 equal pieces.
  5. Place each piece into a greased muffin tin, cut side up.
Bake the Cruffins
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes
