Ingredients
  

Batter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Filling
  • 2 cups fresh cherries pitted and halved
Topping
  • powdered sugar for dusting optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour, whisking until smooth and lump-free.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Arrange the pitted cherries evenly over the batter.
  6. Pour the remaining batter over the cherries.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the clafoutis is puffed and golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
  3. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Clafoutis can be made with other fruits such as plums or berries. Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of the fruit used.
