Method
Prepare the Cabbage
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cabbage wedges and cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
Saut? the Onion and Garlic
- In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and saut? until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Combine and Simmer
- Add the cabbage wedges to the skillet with the onion and garlic. Pour in the vegetable broth and season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Bring to a simmer.
Cook Until Tender
- Cover and cook on low heat for 30-35 minutes, until the cabbage is meltingly tender. Stir occasionally and add more broth if needed.
Finish and Serve
- Remove from heat and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted. Serve warm.
