Ingredients

  • 12 frozen silver dollar pancakes thawed
  • 1 cup strawberries sliced into heart shapes
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 12 inches bamboo skewers

Equipment

  • bamboo skewers

Method

  1. Thaw the pancakes completely at room temperature or in the microwave for about 60 seconds, flipping them after 30 seconds to ensure they thaw completely. Cut the pancakes into heart shapes using a heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  2. Slice the strawberries in half lengthwise, then trim the stem end into a heart shape by making a small triangle cut and rounding off the tops as needed.
  3. On each bamboo skewer, thread three blueberries, a pancake heart, a strawberry heart, another pancake heart, and three more blueberries. Repeat to create additional kabobs as needed.
  4. If serving to young children, cut the pointed end off the skewer for safety.
