  • 1/2 cup water
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp. salt.
  2. While the water is heating, rinse the Brussels sprouts, cut off the bottoms, and slice in half lengthwise. Discard any loose leaves.
  3. When the water boils, add the Brussels sprouts. Cook for 5-6 minutes, until the sprouts are cooked al dente.
  4. Tip the Brussels sprouts into a colander and shake to remove any excess water.
  5. Heat the olive oil to sizzling in a large skillet. Add the Brussels sprouts and saut?, stirring.
  6. When the Brussels sprouts start to brown, add the minced garlic and herbs. Saut? very briefly.
  7. Add 1/2 cup water. Simmer until the water evaporates, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and grind on some black pepper.
