Ingredients

  • 18 oz white mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • large skillet

Method

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and olive oil.
  2. Once the butter has melted, add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Saut? the mushrooms on the hot pan for a few minutes without stirring. Stir once the mushrooms start to brown about 4 minutes in. Allow the mushrooms to cook for a few minutes longer.
  3. Add the minced garlic, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to the mushrooms, stir, and continue to saut? for another 2-3 minutes, or until the garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Season the mushrooms with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning according to your preferences.
  5. Keep cooking the mushrooms until they are golden brown and cooked to your liking. Be patient and allow them to develop a nice caramelized exterior.
  6. Once done, remove the skillet from heat and transfer the saut?ed mushrooms to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve.
