Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon Remove skin if present
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 3/4 teaspoon coarse kosher salt or 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 2-3 teaspoons avocado or olive oil

Equipment

  • air fryer

Method

  1. Remove the skin from the salmon, if present. Pat with paper towels to ensure the surface is mostly dry. Cut the salmon into 1 to 2-inch cubes.
  2. Mix the spices (brown sugar, paprika, smoked paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, cornstarch, and salt) together in a small bowl.
  3. Toss the salmon cubes with the spices and oil, mixing until well coated.
  4. Place the salmon pieces in the air fryer, spreading them out to avoid overcrowding. Air fry at 400 degrees for 8 minutes.
  5. Check for doneness. Salmon should be textured and golden on the outside, juicy on the inside, and should flake easily when pressed with a fork. For medium doneness, cook for an additional 6-7 minutes if preferred.
