Ingredients
  

Tortilla Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water warm
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

Method
 

Making the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and vegetable oil, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Cooking the Tortillas
  1. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  2. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a thin circle about 8 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook each tortilla for about 1 minute on each side until lightly browned.
  4. Keep the cooked tortillas warm by covering them with a lid.
