Chowder Preparation
  1. Thaw the chowder in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
  2. Remove chowder from the plastic bag before heating.
  3. Place chowder in a heavy saucepan or double boiler over medium-low heat.
  4. Heat for approximately 15-30 minutes, stirring frequently. Do not boil chowder.
  5. When small bubbles appear around the edge of the pot, remove from heat. If chowder is not warm enough, return to stove over low heat until it reaches 165°F.
