Ingredients
  

Brisket
  • 4 pounds beef brisket trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons salt kosher
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 cup beef broth low sodium
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce optional for serving

Method
 

Prepare the Brisket
  1. Preheat your oven to 300?F (150?C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.
Cook the Brisket
  1. Place the brisket in a roasting pan, fat side up.
  2. Pour the beef broth into the bottom of the pan.
  3. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 4 hours, or until the brisket is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 195?F (90?C).
Rest and Serve
  1. Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
  2. Serve with barbecue sauce if desired.
