Ingredients

Cake
  • 1 box funfetti cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Pudding Filling
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
Topping
  • 1 container whipped topping thawed
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles for garnish

Method

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the funfetti cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Make the Pudding Filling
  1. While the cake is baking, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk in a bowl until smooth. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
Poke the Cake
  1. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  2. Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a toothpick, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
Add the Pudding
  1. Pour the prepared pudding over the cake, making sure it fills the holes. Spread it evenly across the top.
  2. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the pudding to set.
Finish with Topping
  1. After the cake has chilled, spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer.
  2. Sprinkle the top with additional sprinkles for decoration.
