Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti or your choice of pasta
Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter divided
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 lemon juice freshly squeezed
Seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Method
 

Cook Pasta
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare Shrimp
  1. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
Combine
  1. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and lemon juice. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the cooked pasta and shrimp back to the skillet, tossing to coat in the garlic butter sauce. Stir in chopped parsley.
  3. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

For a creamier sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream when combining the pasta and shrimp.
