Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz Pasta (spaghetti or penne)
Ground Beef
  • 1 lb Ground beef 80/20 blend recommended
Vegetables
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Bell pepper, chopped any color
Sauce
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
Garnish
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated for serving

Method
 

Cook the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  2. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
