Ingredients
  

Lemonade Base
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice about 4-6 lemons
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 4 cups cold water divided into 3 cups for mixing and 1 cup for serving
Optional Garnish
  • 1 slices lemon for garnish
  • 1 sprig fresh mint for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Lemonade
  1. Juice the lemons until you have 1 cup of lemon juice.
  2. In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Add 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir well. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or water if necessary.
  4. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Serve
  1. Serve the lemonade over ice, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint if desired.

Notes

For a sparkling version, replace some of the cold water with sparkling water.
