Ingredients
  

Ice Cream Base
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Ice Cream Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
Churn the Ice Cream
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
  2. The ice cream should be soft-serve consistency when done.
Freeze the Ice Cream
  1. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  2. Scoop and serve once firm.
