Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water or milk for extra creaminess
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
For the Poke Filling
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 drops purple food coloring
  • 3 drops green food coloring
  • 3 drops gold food coloring
For the Topping
  • 1 container whipped topping (Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup sprinkles for decoration

Method
 

Baking the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350?F.
  2. Mix the cake batter according to the package instructions, usually combining eggs, water, and oil until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool the cake completely in the pan on a wire rack for about 30 minutes.
Adding the Filling
  1. Poke holes all over the cooled cake using the end of a wooden spoon.
  2. Prepare the filling by mixing sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Pour the filling evenly over the poked holes in your cake and let it soak for 10-15 minutes.
Frosting and Garnishing
  1. Make the frosting by combining powdered sugar, cream cheese, and milk until smooth.
  2. Frost your king cake poke cake generously with the prepared frosting.
  3. Garnish with purple, green, and gold sprinkles or edible glitter.
