Ingredients
  

Beef Marinade
  • 1 pound beef sirloin thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
Rice and Toppings
  • 2 cups jasmine rice uncooked
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup green onions sliced
  • 1 cup carrots julienned
  • 1 cup cucumber sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Marinade
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Mix well.
Marinate the Beef
  1. Add the sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
Cook the Rice
  1. In a rice cooker, combine jasmine rice and water. Cook according to the rice cooker instructions.
Cook the Beef
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until fully cooked.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Serve the cooked beef over a bed of rice, topped with sliced green onions, carrots, cucumber, and sesame seeds.
