Ingredients

Hashbrown Base
  • 4 cups shredded frozen hashbrowns thawed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or cheese of choice
  • 1 cup cooked bacon crumbled
  • 1/4 cup green onions chopped
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Cooking
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

Method

Prepare the Mixture
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hashbrowns, cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, beaten egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Form Patties
  1. Using your hands, form the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
Cook the Patties
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties in batches, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve
  1. Remove the patties from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or toppings.
