Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup white wine optional
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Equipment

  • frying pan
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • knife
  • cutting board

Method

  1. Sprinkle salt and pepper on the chicken. Heat oil in a pan. Cook the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side. After that, take it out of the pan.
  2. In the same pan, cook chopped onions for 2-3 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook for another minute. Pour in white wine (if using) and let it cook for 2 minutes. Add chicken broth and let it simmer.
  3. Lower the heat and stir in the cream. Let it cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens. If it?s too thin, mix a little flour with water and add it to the sauce.
  4. Put the chicken back in the pan. Spoon some sauce over the chicken and cook together for 5 more minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top and cook until melted.
  5. Add fresh parsley and basil before serving.
