Method
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then poke holes all over the top using a toothpick.
Add Jell-O
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the red Jell-O in 1 cup of boiling water. Pour over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
- Repeat the process with the blue Jell-O. Allow the cake to cool completely in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Frost the Cake
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Fold in the whipped topping until smooth and creamy.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled cake. Decorate with additional berries if desired.
