Ingredients
  

Swiss Chard
  • 12 leaves Swiss chard leaves Stems removed
Ricotta Filling
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Fresh
  • 1 cup spinach Chopped, cooked
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese Shredded
  • 1 large egg Beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg Ground
Sauce
  • 2 cups tomato sauce Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For drizzling

Method
 

Prepare Swiss Chard
  1. Preheat the oven to 375?F (190?C). Boil a large pot of salted water and blanch the Swiss chard leaves for 2-3 minutes until tender. Remove and place in a colander to drain.
Make Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cooked spinach, mozzarella cheese, beaten egg, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix well.
Stuff Chard Leaves
  1. Lay a Swiss chard leaf flat, place a spoonful of the ricotta mixture at the base, and roll it up tightly. Repeat with remaining leaves.
Bake
  1. Spread half of the tomato sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed chard leaves seam-side down in the dish. Top with remaining tomato sauce and drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes until bubbly.
