Ingredients
  

Sandwich Ingredients
  • 8 slices Sourdough Bread
  • 1 pound Roast Beef Thinly sliced
  • 8 slices Cheddar Cheese Sharp or mild, as preferred
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Softened
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard Optional
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Optional

Method
 

Prepare the Sandwiches
  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard if using.
  3. Layer roast beef and cheddar cheese on half of the slices, then top with the remaining slices, buttered side up.
Cook the Sandwiches
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the other side is golden brown.
  4. Remove from skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.
