Ingredients
  

Tuna Steaks
  • 4 pieces Ahi tuna steaks about 6 ounces each
Marinade
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons scallions sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted

Method
 

Prepare the Marinade
  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, ginger, and garlic.
Marinate the Tuna
  1. Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes.
Sear the Tuna
  1. Heat a skillet over high heat. Remove the tuna from the marinade and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side, until browned but still rare in the center.
Serve
  1. Slice the tuna against the grain and serve immediately, garnished with scallions and sesame seeds.
