Method
 

Preparing the Donuts
  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients: sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: egg, milk, melted butter, and pure vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Use a donut cutter to cut out donuts and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the donuts are lightly golden brown.
Making the Glaze
  1. While the donuts cool, prepare the vanilla glaze by mixing powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Blend until smooth.
  2. Adjust thickness by adding more milk or sugar as needed to achieve a pourable consistency.
  3. Once the donuts are cooled for about 20 minutes, dip the tops in the glaze and let excess drip off.
  4. Set glazed donuts on a wire rack to allow the glaze to firm up for about 10 minutes.
  5. Feel free to get creative with toppings while the glaze is still sticky!
