Preparation
- Gather Ingredients: Start by assembling all your ingredients, including flour, yeast, sugar, salt, water, and butter.
- Activate Yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle in the yeast and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Create a well in the center for adding the yeast mixture later.
- Combine Mixtures: Pour the activated yeast mixture into the flour well along with melted butter. Stir gently until the dough begins to form.
- Knead Dough: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it?s smooth and elastic.
- First Rise: Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
- Shape Loaf: Once risen, punch down the dough to release air bubbles. Shape it into a loaf by rolling it tightly from one end to the other.
- Second Rise: Place your shaped loaf into a greased bread pan and cover again with a cloth. Let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat Oven: While the dough rises, preheat your oven to 350?F (175?C).
- Bake Bread: Bake your loaf in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Cool Down: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
