Ingredients
  

Cookie Base
  • 1 cup salted butter softened at room temperature
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup miniature chocolate chips
Decorations
  • 4 oz. orange candy melts
  • 4 oz. green candy melts
  • 5-6 oz. white candy melts or white chocolate chips
  • 1.5 oz. chocolate chips melted
  • candy eyes
  • chocolate sprinkles for Frankenstein hair
  • green candies like M&M for Frankenstein nose

Method
 

Making the Cookies
  1. Mix butter on high speed for 1 minute, add powdered sugar and vanilla, and mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Turn the mixer on low speed and add flour. Mix just until combined.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. Transfer the dough to a gallon-size plastic bag and roll out to ? inch thick or roll out between two sheets of parchment paper. Refrigerate until firm.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 325?F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the dough into 2x4 inch rectangles to yield about 15 cookies.
  3. If the edges of the rectangles lose shape, press them back together.
  4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  5. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Decorating the Cookies
  1. Melt candy melts as directed on the package.
  2. Dip cookies in melted candy to cover about 1/2-2/3 of the cookie.
  3. Place candy eyes on wet cookies and transfer to the fridge to set quicker.
  4. Drizzle melted white chocolate over cookies to resemble bandages on the mummy.
  5. Melt chocolate chips and transfer to a small zip-lock bag for making mouths.
  6. Cover the top of the cookie with melted chocolate and sprinkle black or chocolate sprinkles.
  7. Let the decorations harden completely before lifting the cookies from the parchment paper.
