Ingredients
  

Danish Pastry Dough
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
Cream Cheese Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberries chopped
Topping
  • 1 egg egg wash beaten
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Fold in the chopped strawberries gently.
Shape the Danishes
  1. Preheat the oven to 375?F (190?C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into heart shapes.
  3. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese filling in the center of each heart shape.
  4. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a heart shape, sealing the edges with a fork.
Bake the Danishes
  1. Place the shaped danishes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  2. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
