  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
  • 1 envelope taco seasoning (1 oz.)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb. ground beef (cooked and drained, optional for Beefy Bean Dip)
  • green onions (chopped for garnish, optional)

Method
 

Smooth Bean Dip
  1. For smooth bean dip, add the refried beans, tomato sauce, and water to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer the blended mixture to a large pot. Add the shredded cheddar cheese and taco seasoning. Mix well.
  3. Heat on medium heat until the dip is warm and the cheese is melted.
Chunky Bean Dip
  1. For chunky bean dip, add all ingredients directly to a large pot and warm on medium heat until the cheese is melted and the dip is heated through.
Beefy Bean Dip
  1. For beefy bean dip, add the browned and drained ground beef after heating the dip.
Slow Cooker Variation
  1. To heat the dip in a slow cooker, set it on low for 3-4 hours or high for 2-3 hours until heated through and cheese is melted.
