Ingredients
  

  • 1 box Butter Pecan cake mix 15.25-ounce
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and grease a 9?13-inch baking pan.
  2. Measure out 2/3 cup of cake mix and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining cake mix with 1/2 cup softened butter, light brown sugar, 2 eggs, and water. Mix well using an electric mixer.
  4. Fold in the chopped pecans and pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes.
  6. In the last 5 minutes of baking, mix together 1/2 cup softened butter, 2 eggs, sugar, corn syrup, and milk, along with the 2/3 cup of cake mix set aside.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven and pour the topping mixture over the partially baked cake.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for another 30 to 35 minutes; the cake will still be jiggly in the center.
  9. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
